The Frost is on the Pumpkin

DSC_0843
The frost is on the pumpkin,
It settles in your bones,
It changes orange,
to a crisp white monochrome.

The frost in on the pumpkin,
The corn maze has closed down,
Water turns to cold slick rock,
Cars will slide around.

The frost is on the pumpkin,
The temp is negative four,
Chill pricks the surface,
Winter’s mighty roar

The frost is on the pumpkin,
The horses in the barn,
The water needs a crowbar
The hay will keep them warm.

The frost in on the pumpkin,
Shift gears and read a book,
Sip a frothy cup of warm.
As winter sings a brand new storybrook.
