(This is a 100 word challenge with the writing prompt, “Peculiar”. See the whole challenge on: http://thinspiralnotebook.com/2016/01/27/100-word-challenge-peculiar/ )
The bee it sings a peculiar song.
It sings with its wings, but you can sing along,
Not with your wings unless you’re a bee,
But come along and sing with me.
It will tickle your nose,
Try it I say, just buzz, and buzz and buzz away.
I know you think it peculiar…..
To tickle your nose but buzz from the heart
And buzz from your toes.
A smile will slowly emerge on your face,
As you giggle from the tickle inside you someplace,
That peculiar feeling of buzzing your nose will brighten your day
And lighten your load.
This was so fun! Thank you for playing along with 100 Words.
This is a children’s story in the making! Such a fun rhyme it evoked thoughts of my favorite, Dr. Suess. Fun fun fun!
This made me smile! Thank you!!!
Nice! Feels like it could be tightened up and be even more Seussish without the 100 words constraint. Like it!
Okay, I’m smiling over here, because I read this with guitar music playing in my head!
I am a teacher of first graders so, I can appreciate the bouncy rhythm your piece possesses and the important message it conveys. Well done, Connie!
A poem for kids with a moral for all age groups. Loved it.
What a happy bee song!
Pleased to meet you, Connie.
I felt a gentle, silly guidance by none other than Dr. Seuss, here. Fun!
That was so sweet. I could picture reading it to kids from a picture book!! Love it!
I love bees. I plant my surroundings to attract them. They make me happy, as did your poem, a tribute to their calming (at least to me) presence.
Made me smile too but I still run a mile from bees!
Now I’m missing the honey bees. This bit of whimsy declares that Spring needs to arrive soon.
What a fun entry! I’ve never thought of using a poetry spin!
